Now, for a brief break from the Ice Classic, here’s a great video of a Pleo at Seaworld. Roll ahead to the two minute mark and watch the Dolphins and Pleo.

As I was walking out of AT&T Park after the Giants beat the Cardinals 5-1, I thought, “I’ve had a really great day!”
This morning’s (early morning, btw) Identity Management sessions at the RSA conference were quite good. I think that in regards to Identity Management, RSA 2008 has been the best conference that I’ve attended. […]

I’m in San Francisco at RSA 2008. Ironically, this year’s conference theme is Turing Lives. My post on the Dilbert-Turing cartoon of a few weeks ago was almost prescient.
RSA is one of the heavy hitter tech conferences. It’s quite large and the geek quotient is through the roof. If you think developers are geeky, wait […]

Oooh - the punch line of todays Dilbert was the Turing Test!!!!! Totally uber-geek!
Alan Turing was one of the great minds of the Twentieth Century. He is one of my heroes. Turing was a brilliant mathematician - right up there with Godel. He also was responsible for breaking the German Enigma code. If weren’t for […]

I got several fantastic Christmas presents one of which was a First Hatch Pleo. The Pleo is a dinosaur robot life form that is incredibly cute and learns as he goes. I’ve lusted after a Pleo since they were first announced almost two years ago at Demo2006.
Plato is an absolute cutie - and each day […]

My favorite tech item of 2007 is hands down the iPod Touch. I know - how could the iPhone not rank as my favorite? Well, I don’t have an iPhone. I’m still very happy with my […]

My blog disappeared for about 24 hours - a little mix-up with the domain name renewal. For the past day, if you went to www.slatrat.com, you were greeted by something that wasn’t quite porn but certainly didn’t seem quite on the up and up. Fortunately, my buddies at Green Beast, were able to rectify the […]

Hulu, an on-line joint venture (JV) video streaming service, was beta launched in October. I signed up and my beta invitation came through yesterday. The major JV partners include NBC Universal and Fox. The site is of course intended to be the on-line distribution channel for NBC and Fox - as opposed to YouTube.
I’ve done […]

When I read technical or interesting (not necessarily mutually exclusive) documents, I yellow-highlight the stuffing out of them. It’s the only way I have a prayer of remembering what I’ve read. However, this practice leads to a build-up of paper. Which is annoying. Not at all Green. And a fire hazard.
A few weeks ago, I […]
