500 Geocaches!!!!!

Posted by: Steph on June 8th, 2008

I’m a bit late getting this posted, but two weeks ago, while we were in Seattle, I snagged my 500th geocache!!!! It’s a big time milestone - either that or yet another example of my extremely geekiness.
Based on a suggestion from my buddy Scott, Peter and I decided to do the 500th via kayak. So, […]

Geocaching and Dalai Lama

Posted by: Steph on April 12th, 2008

This afternoon, The Ski Boy and I headed down to the Qwest Field parking lot and then over to Chinatown to snag a few geocaches. Guess who was also at Qwest Field? Yup, His Holiness The Dalai Lama. Of course, His Holiness wasn’t geocaching. He was speaking to a crowd of 50,000 people as part […]

Anniversary Trek

Posted by: Steph on August 16th, 2007

Saturday was glorious. So, Peter, Tyge and myself decided to celebrate the first anniversary of the Slat Rat-Ski Boy nuptials by doing an epic hike-geocaching expedition up Arctic Valley and Mt. Gordon Lyon.

A Tygey Pic

A Low Key But Very Enjoyable, Fourth

Posted by: Steph on July 4th, 2007

The Ski Boy, Tyge, and I had a relaxing day - although I was definitely further out on the relaxed spectrum than Tyge and Peter. They rolled out of bed at 8:00 AM to head off with their buddies on an early Independence Day run. I routed out in time for coffee at 10:30 AM.
This […]

A Glorious Summer Day

Posted by: Steph on June 16th, 2007

Wow! It doesn’t get much better than today. Especially for us sun and summer starved Alaskans. The official high was 73 degrees - which may not sound like much to folks elsewhere, but for us it’s a really big deal. Summer, sun, warmth, everything. Downtown Anchorage was packed: Summer Solstice Festival, Juneteenth, three cruise ships […]

A Florida Geocaching Diversion

Posted by: Steph on March 10th, 2007

It was a gorgeous day here in Sarasota: 84 degrees and not at all muggy. A vast improvement over Anchorage’s high of 19 degrees. And definitely quite a bit warmer than the sub-zero temperatures along the Yukon stretch of the Iditarod.
This afternoon, Peter and I drove Alix up to the Tampa airport for her flight […]
