Fabulous Colorado Day
Today was one of my special Colorado days. Spent the morning shopping in Larimer Square - I definitely contributed to the downtown Denver economy. I then headed up to the Highlands - our former neighborhood of a long time ago. It is now the most wonderful hip little artistic happening place. I did lunch al fresco at a tres bon little French restaurant - had a Croque Monsieur and a marvelous Sauvignon Blanc. I then moseyed over to Mondo Vino - my alltime favorite wine store. I picked up three bottles: Two French and One Italian. The Ski Boy and I will enjoy those bottles of grape juice!
Next up was a bit of geocaching in the Pferdesteller Park - which is right across the street from our old house of 45 years ago. Then I cruised 32nd street all the way to Golden and made my way to Highway 6 for my annual pilgrimage up Clear Creek Canyon. Clear Creek Canyon was one of Dad’s all time favorite drives and for good reason. It is is gorgeous. I did two geocaches and then spent about an hour sitting on rock in the creek just enjoying the day and remembering Dad.
I finished up my geocaching at the top of Loveland Pass and the Continental Divide. Nothing like 12,000 ft to really get one dizzy over geocaching.
Almost a perfect day - it would have been perfect if the Ski Boy was here. Or Dad.

Hello. I am
I miss Colorado
I love that drive too. I take it every time I can when I am out there.
Hooray for colorful Colorado! How long’s your visit?
Hey Jesse,
I head out Thursday morning - my conference wraps up on Wednesday. The weather certainly has been stunning. It’s been a awesome trip - and a very good conference.
glad to hear it! Colorado is generally pretty nice, but the the last few weeks the weather has finally been cooperating; making it even better!
Lovely pictures - and lovely memories.
When I was at Garden of the Gods a couple weeks ago, I too thought of my dad - and picked up a striking rock specimen and pocketed it in his memory (he was an amateur geologist).
