Hadron Collider -> Alternate Universe?

So, early this morning Alaska time, CERN’s Large Hadron Collider was fired up. There was quite a bit of fear mongering in the blogosphere regarding Hadron black hole creation, the Earth getting swallowed up and then spit out into an alternate universe. However, everything went fine this morning - no black holes, no swallowed up earth, no alternate universe.

BUT - I have to wonder: Sarah Palin as the Vice Presidential candidate on the Republican ticket. Are we sure we’re not in an alternate universe?

    I’m so glad the world didn’t end. That would really screwed up my day.
