A Fabulous Girdwood Day

Good grief - it’s been almost two weeks since I’ve last posted. I’ve been absolutely swamped by work. It’s been difficult to find the spare cycles to blog. But, at least for the next 20 minutes, I’m experiencing a bit of breather.

So, last week, The Suze - Peter’s sister - was up escaping the summer Florida heat and Hurricane Fay.

On Saturday, Peter, Susie, Tyge, and I headed down to Girdwood for sourdough pancakes at the world famous Bake Shop. Those sourdough pancakes are the best ever and the starter is over 80 years old.

After gorging ourselves into oblivion, we visited the Blueberry Festival at the Alyeska Prince Hotel, drove up to beginning of the Crow Pass Trail, and then did a two mile geocaching hike on a portion of the Iditarod trail. We finished off the day back in Anchorage with beer and pizza at The Moose’s Tooth. It doesn’t get any better than that!!!!!

Tyge on the trail. I love this shot. I think it’s calendar good.
