Sad Day

Yesterday was a sad day for both Ted Stevens and Alaska. Ted has been a US Senator almost as long as Mom and I have been in Alaska - over 40 years. Although often cantankerous, in the early days, he had a well deserved reputation for honesty and solid ethics. It’s a very sad turn of events to see that stellar reputation crumble.

A number of Alaskan politicians have either been indicted or are about to be indicted on political corruption charges. Those indictees or soon to be indictees are parasitic, non-ethical, power wielding, despots or junior despot wannabes. Ted is the only one I feel badly about.

The Juneau Empire has an excellent editorial on the topic, What a Shame for Alaska.
