Young Bull Moose
A yearling bull moose has been hanging around in our neighborhood for the past few months. He’s a little guy - one of the smallest bull calves I’ve seen. And surprisingly for a young bull, he’s pretty mellow. Young bull moose are at the very least, obnoxious and they can also be quite dangerous. All that testosterone - they’re like young 19 year old punks with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in their t-shirt sleeve. Over the years, I’ve had way more run ins with adolescent bulls than cows and calves.
Anyhoo, this little guy was quite calm. However, there’s still time….
I took these pictures about three weeks ago. We were still without leaves.

I love your wildlife shots.
I don’t think my moose pictures can count as “wildlife shots”. These moose are like photography models - paid by the hour in mountain ash branches.
They’re very calm and mellow - at least the ones that I photograph.
