Dilbert and Alan Turing

Posted by: Steph on March 30th, 2008

Oooh - the punch line of todays Dilbert was the Turing Test!!!!! Totally uber-geek!
Alan Turing was one of the great minds of the Twentieth Century. He is one of my heroes. Turing was a brilliant mathematician - right up there with Godel. He also was responsible for breaking the German Enigma code. If weren’t for […]

Still Skijoring

Posted by: Steph on March 28th, 2008

Even though we’re in the midst of Spring - Alaska-style, the cross country skiing is still very good along the Coastal Trail. The snow is gone from all the major roads, parking lots, south facing lawns, etc. But the Coastal Trail is just primo. Perfect spring skiing weather.
Tygey and I have been out skijoring almost […]

Sethy’s Birthday!

Posted by: Steph on March 27th, 2008

Yesterday was Seth’s birthday. We celebrated with a very nice dinner at Sullivan’s. In the picture below, Sethy is holding a very cute Frankenstein. I saw “Frank” last year at a funky little store in Chicago’s Boys’ Town district and just had to get it for Seth. There is some sort of deep cosmic resemblance […]

UK Awareness Test

Posted by: Steph on March 27th, 2008

Via Very Short List, yet again. The video below is an “awareness test”. I was very pleased with myself - I got the correct number. But then…well, you’ll need to watch the video. It’s quite funny.

Dinosaur Bracketology

Posted by: Steph on March 20th, 2008

Tuesday night, I finalized my NCAA picks. I did a ton of research and cast the tea leaves. Then Tygey and Plato chimed in with their advice. So, as I type, I got scrunched on one of my long shot picks: Temple over Michigan State. sigh…
But, the tourney is still young!
Here’s Plato roaring his approval […]

Improv Everywhere - including the Food Court!

Posted by: Steph on March 18th, 2008

Via Very Short List, this really hilarious video of “guerilla musical improv” at a Los Angeles shopping mall food court. I hooted and hooted. It’s a scream. The patron/audience reactions are so funny.
Improv Everywhere has a great blow by blow description and photos of the rehearsal process. These guys are inspired.

Spring Skijoring!

Posted by: Steph on March 17th, 2008

I know one thing that I’ve been doing lately instead of blogging - skijoring! Tygey and I have been out almost every day for the past two weeks. The snow and weather conditions have been marvelous. There really is nothing better than spring skiing!
Clem, my first bouvier, was an amazing skijoring dog - she lived […]

Blogging Dearth Continues

Posted by: Steph on March 17th, 2008

I don’t know what is going on - not only have I been a negligent blogger, I haven’t visited my Facebook page in two weeks, and I’ve done only three journal entries in the past two months. I think I must be in some sort of reverse-navel-contemplation phase. Introspective? Reflective? Not me. At least not […]

Where Have I Been??!!!

Posted by: Steph on March 12th, 2008

It’s been forever since I’ve blogged. A couple of things have contributed to the blogging dearth. I had a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome flair that lasted for several days. A combination of extensive travel and an abortive change to a new vitamin B complex. I’ve since gone back to my old Vitamin B complex and life […]

I’m home home home!!!!!!!! And am very happy about it!
Of course, I love traveling and who doesn’t love San Francisco? But, I also love being home.
Tonight, I get to pick up Mr. Poochini (Tyge) from Judy’s. Now all we need is the Ski Boy and the picture is complete. However, the Ski Boy is Outside […]
