Skating!!!!!!!
We’re still without snow here in Anchorburg. We just finished up the fifth warmest November on record and December seems to be headed down the same path. However, the temperature has dropped just enough to freeze lakes and marshes. This lake freezing sans snow is extremely uncommon. Usually, snow and freezing go together. The upside of ice only is that the ice skating is absolutely amazing. Smooth as glass ice that goes on forever.
I strapped on the blades and puttered out on to Westchester Lagoon this afternoon. I had a marvelous time. One push of the skate and I glided on and on and on. I was doing easy lap after lap around The Lagoon.
Peter and Tyge walked down to the Lagoon with me.
In action. Tygey had a bit of problem on the ice. Also, the light was low so I tried to sharpen up this shot with Photoshop’s sharpening tool. It helped a bit.
The ice was so clear. There were all sorts of interesting bubble formations frozen in the ice.
