Annual December Jaunt to Seattle

The Ski Boy and I flew down to Seattle last evening. We’re here until Tuesday. What makes this trip extra fun is that we get to see Alix. She’s doing a veterinary internship at a clinic in the Seattle area. In the 24 hours that we’ve been here, the three of us have already had a fabulous dinner at Wild Ginger and lunch at Cafe Campagna. I don’t think I’ll have the courage to step on the scales when we get home. ugh…

Tonight we met Kim and Scott, two of our most favorite buddies in the world, for dinner at Place Pigalle in Pike Place Market. It was fabulous!

The truly ironic thing is that it has been snowing all day in Seattle. It’s even been blizzarding at times. Two weeks in ago in Anchorage, we had a wonderful snow cover - about 8 inches on the ground. Total winter wonderland and a great base for the rest of the winter. However, last week - Thanksgiving week - it poured rain for five straight days. All of our snow was rained away and we were left with hideous ice. It’s been so depressing that I couldn’t face blogging about it. So, for it to snow the entire day here in Seattle - well that’s just wrong. Insult added to injury.

However, it’s actually been fun - after all it’s Seattle at Christmastime!

And I got some good pics this evening:

The entrance to Pike Street Market. As you can see, it was definitely snowing hard, but the snow wasn’t sticking.
