World Series Tickets Heartbreak
Today was not a good day on the World Series Ticket front. I was sooo close - twice!!!!! And the bleepin’ MLB ticket site booted me out as I was entering credit card information. I was crushed beyond belief - and furious.
See my email to the Rockies below:
I managed to get in on the web site to buy tickets for Saturday night not just once, but twice!!!!! However, the time counter appears to start counting down from 8 minutes once the tickets are selected. It takes at two minutes for each intermediary screen to load and by the time you get to the “log-in here” screen, you’ve got three minutes to log-in.
And here’s where the crying starts. I set up an on-line Rockies account several days ago in anticipation of buying tickets. However, the Rockies on-line MLB account does not seem to be the account that ticket site wants. I entered my email/password combination several times and it didn’t accept it – oh – and it takes at least a minute to process the username password entry. So, your time ticks down to zero pretty quickly – you basically have three shots at it and then, crusher of all crushers, your tickets are gone.
I almost cried the first time I lost the tickets.
The second time I got in, I moved through the first few screens and got to the log-in screen with about 4 minutes remaining. I tried my user name password one more time and of course it still didn’t work. So, I went through the registration process. But by the time I filled in all of the required fields and went through the log-in process, the time clock ticked down to zero. Again.
My seats the first go around were 119 row 24 seats 3-6
The second time, the seats were 144 row 37 9-12
I had actual real live seats in my hot little hand.
To get so close, twice, and then lose the tickets because of poor web-site/interface design/network capacity planning was maddening beyond belief. I’m still furious.
As evidenced by this Channel 9 News in Denver article, I’m not the only one….
Hello. I am
That is just too bad - you are such a fan you deserved the tix! (okay, there are lots of ardent fans)
The technology thing, given the industry we work in, would have driven me insane as well.
I’m sorry. If it makes you feel any better, TJ and Jennifer didn’t get as close as you did. She was really disappointed.
