Termination Dust 2007

For the past three mornings, there’s been Termination Dust in the mountains. Yesterday and Friday, the snow was quite light and at the very tip tops of a few mountains. However, today is a different story. This morning was blue bird clear and very chilly: 38 degrees here at the Partnow Manse. The view east to the mountains was startling: major termination dust. Not just dust, but several peaks were entirely covered in snow! Wow! Summer is certainly “terminated” and winter could be just around the corner.

Here’s the view from our roof. Normally roof access is not an option. However, because we’re in the midst of our major roof job, we’ve got ladder access! The roof view is amazing - once the leaves fall from the trees, we’ll have a straight on amazing view of Denali. But, we probably won’t have ladder access by then - at least we hope not. The roof work should finish up by the middle of the week.

Wow! It’s really here! That’s a beautifully clear shot, even if the Inlet Tower has to be in the way.

Does that pass for Termination “Dust”? Looks more like a thick snowcap than dust to me….I think “dust” was probably finished in the first hour of snowfall.

Nooooo… It’s too early for autumn! The leaves are already falling here in Seattle…
