Roofin’ in the Rain
The Partnow Manse is in the midst of some major roof work. And of course, as a result, the monsoon season got underway. It’s been pouring for the past two days - right after the roof covering was removed. Fortunately we have an ace roofer and the entire roof is sealed with visqueen. Our roofer is also very conscientious. Yesterday at 5:00 AM, Tyge started barking furiously. I heard thumps right outside the bedroom window. Fortunately, I wasn’t worried - it was our roofer climbing up the ladder to check on the visqueen seal. It had been pouring rain all night and he was concerned about the seal. He thumped around on the roof for about 20 minutes and then made his way back down the ladder. The seals were all in good shape and no leakage.
Fortunately, the rain finally quit at mid-morning today. So, the crew has been able to make quite a bit of progress.
The crew and Peter at 8:00 AM this morning - Peter is the cute one in the yellow rain slicker. It certainly was pouring…
The Partnow Manse. Note the red ladder on the right - it passes directly in front of our bedroom window. Also note the very stylish roof guard rails.
Hello. I am
Your house is so modern looking! I am not used to structures like that. Is it typical in AK?
Whatever happened with Tyge and the dental floss? My friend’s dog is obsessed with eating lotion and body butter. Dogs are so weird.
Anchorage has tons of modern architecture. We also have lots of log cabins. And unfortunately, ugly tract housing. What we don’t have are brownstone walk-ups.
