The Slat Rat as a Bit Player in “The Player”

I spent the entire day tagging along with the Concert Association’s programmer and one of our staff members as they visited booking agent after booking agent. What an education - and what fun. It was just like the movie, The Player - only no one was murdered. Tons of conversations about “next money”, splits, who’s touring what, etc. Just the sheer number of artists - plus a bunch that I was sure were long gone by now. At least three different times today I asked in amazement, “Is he still alive?”

Our programmer has recommended that I watch “Entourage”. Evidently it pretty much hits the nail on the head. His additional comment was that agents like Ari Gold exist but fortunately, I won’t have to meet any of them.

  1. Mom responds:

So that’s why you didn’t answer your home phone!

  2. Leland responds:

Soo… What does it cost to book Kiss for a one night show in Alaska now? Do you have to provide M&M’s with the red ones picked out?

  3. Leland responds:

    P.S.

Is the Canadian Brass still around?

  4. Frankie responds:

I don’t know if you would like Entourage. Hmmm. But Ari Gold is brilliant!
