Where Am I?
After today, “Where Am I” is a very reasonable question - I’m definitely dizzy from a whirlwind day and a long way from where I started - at 4:25 AM when the phone rang. The ringing phone woke me from a very sound sleep. I had set my watch alarm for 4:00 AM - I needed to be up and down in the hotel lobby by 4:30 AM to catch my town car to the airport. However, my watch alarm either did not go off or it went off and I didn’t hear it. So, the phone call at 4:25 AM was a shock - the front desk was calling to let me know that my driver was downstairs and waiting. Augh!!!!
However, through the miracle of adrenalin and help from the Ski Boy, I made it downstairs dressed and ready to go with all of my luggage in 15 minutes. The scene at the Seattle airport was a total zoo. I certainly didn’t expect that at 5:00 AM. I barely made my plane. Needless to say, I snoozed my way to Denver.
By 12:30 PM, I was in Boulder brunching at Lucille’s. I then started my way up to Keystone via Highway 6 and Clear Creek Canyon. I always try to do Highway 6 in honor of Dad. It was one of his favorite drives and it really is fabulous - the steep canyon walls, the roaring creek, and all the nifty tunnels. I of course, geocached along the way and picked up four caches - two of which were in the high mountains - scrub pine, cactus, and Rocky Mountain vistas. Pretty nifty.
Now, I’m in my modest one bedroom condo with the spiral staircase and sleeping loft. Definitely snazzy digs for the Slat Rat. There was a booking error at the Keystone Lodge where I usually stay and absolutely love. But the fall back condo is not bad at all - nestled in the woods, smell of wood smoke. One could completely forget that one is here for a business conference. But wait, I’m a presenter tomorrow so I’d better not forget.
Hello. I am
