Tyge and Root Beer Barrels
The other day, Peter picked up a big bag of root beer barrels. Peter and I both have a root beer barrel jones. And now, unfortunately, so does Tyge.
Wednesday evening, Peter left a few empty root beer barrel wrappers next to the bed. Tyge discovered the wrappers and immediately tried to scarf ‘em. I caught him and pulled the wrappers out before he could swallow them. He was hugely disappointed and sulked off.
The next morning, I had already headed off to work. Peter was out of the shower and all lathered up with shaving cream when he heard a tremendous crash from downstairs in the kitchen. Peter yelled, “Damnit Tyge!!!!!” and went roaring down the stairs, still in full shaving cream mode. When he skidded into the kitchen he discovered several items from the counter strewn over the floor and Tyge with his nose buried in the root beer barrel bag - with most of the root beer barrels gone. Tyge was not contrite. To the contrary, he was wearing a big grin. He has definitely found a new love: root beer barrels.
Usually when Tyge discovers new culinary delights, the outcome (output) is not good. However, through most of the day, all seemed well. No runs and no ralphing. But when we dropped Tyge off at Judy’s last night, we did warn her that there might still be issues and then we escaped off into the evening.
This morning, when we arrived in Seattle I had an email from Judy entitiled: “Tygey and Root Beer Barrels”. Uh Oh.
Tyge had a rough night and morning: Several root beer barrel wrapper filled discharges. Based on past experience, it will take Tyge a few days to clear out all those root beer barrels and their wrappers.
That dog. As Judy said, “They broke the mold when the made Tyge”.
Hello. I am
Nothing is safe with that dog around.
I would want to kill him for like 2 minutes, but then he would win me over with his charm.
I remember our very bad dog Buddy jumped up and ate a birthday cake - with the candles still a-flamin’, mind you. My mom was sooooo mad at him, but he seemed quite pleased with himself. He was even wearing a birthday hat at the time.
