Isn’t Air Travel Fun?
As I type, the Ski Boy and I are marooned at LAX. We’re taking the scenic route to Hawaii: Anchorage to Seattle to LA to Honolulu. All went well until we arrived in LA and discovered that our Hawaii flight is 3 hours late. Instead of leaving at 6:00 PM, it’s now leaving at 9:00 PM and there is no guarantee that we’ll actually leave at 9:00 PM. Ugh. To top it all off, the LA to Honolulu flight itself is 5 1/2 hours. Definitely a long travel day.

UPDATE 7:47 PM PDT: We have a new departure time: 9:25 PM. Which amazingly is a relief. When Peter updated me on the new time, I misunderstood. I thought he’d said, “10:27″. Which was really disheartening.
BTW - LAX pretty much sucks as an airport. Seattle and Portland are so much nicer.

LAX is pretty much my least favorite airport. I was there just a few weeks ago. Getting a rental car can be pretty disturbing because each vendor has their own bus which you have to hope will pick you up. The rental lobby for Budget looked like a Greyhound bus stop in a dusty town a few miles from the middle of nowhere - hot, dirty, and full of scary-looking people and angry customer service reps that hate you.
