Victoria Beckham Style Guide

Posted by: Steph on July 31st, 2007

A surprisingly good article in the LA Times on Victoria Beckham, her style, and LA. I particularly liked her style guide - it contains rock solid good advice. Although to be honest, I’m not built or dress in a manner that would require me to worry about this bit of advice:
However you’re built, be mindful […]

The Onion: The Internet Crash of 2007

Posted by: Steph on July 27th, 2007

This is very funny. I particularly liked the comment that Nigeria’s entire economy collapsed as a result of the crash.

Blast from the Past

Posted by: Steph on July 26th, 2007

Yesterday morning, in the Title Wave-Kaladi Brothers Parking Lot, Henry II pulled in next to the gem pictured below. Mom ought to recognize the vehicle - we owned the same model prior to Henry I.
A Studebaker and a Ski Boy

Hunauma Bay Fishies

Posted by: Steph on July 24th, 2007

I finally got a chance to photoshop my Hunauma Bay snorkeling pictures from last week’s trip. Unfortunately, when one is using a very cheap disposable waterproof camera, the pictures are not of Jacques Cousteau quality. But that being said, some of the shots weren’t entirely awful. If I did this sort of thing on a […]

The Finale - WOW!

Posted by: Steph on July 23rd, 2007

I just finished Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Wow - what an ending! Stupendous - the final 100 pages were unbelievable - twists and turns continually unfolded. What an epic. I honestly think the J.K. Rowling weaved the absolute perfect close to a stunning series. This was not a Soprano’s-like ending. This was the […]

Back in Anchorage

Posted by: Steph on July 23rd, 2007

Peter and I flew back to Anchorage on Friday - another epic travel day starting at 5:30 AM. We took the long way home: Honolulu to LA. LA to Seattle. Seattle to Anchorage. Eighteen hours later at 1:30 AM Anchorage time, we pulled into our driveway. Ugh…
LAX is definitely the worst large airport I’ve experienced. […]

Jungle Geocaching - Hawaii Style

Posted by: Steph on July 19th, 2007

Sunday, the Ski Boy and I ventured out of Waikiki up into the high ridge forest overlooking Honolulu and Pearl Harbor for an afternoon of hiking and geocaching. We did the five mile Aiea Loop Trail - a gorgeous trail that winds its way up ridge lines with stunning views of Pearl Harbor and Honolulu […]

Quite the Hawaii Day!

Posted by: Steph on July 18th, 2007

Well - mostly quite the Hawaii day. I did start off my day by sitting in on one of the 9th Circuit Conference symposiums - a great presentation by scientists from the University of Hawaii on, of all things, asteroids. Very good stuff. Although, I admit that I had some questions regarding their calculations of […]

Surfer Slat Rat!

Posted by: Steph on July 16th, 2007

This afternoon, while the Ski Boy was off being scholarly and lawyerly at the 9th Circuit Court Conference, I decided to partake of a tried and true trophy spouse activity - no, not a manicure/pedicure/facial/massage. Nope, I went surfing. Of course, it’s been 34 years since I last surfed but I did pretty well 34 […]

Tyge and Root Beer Barrels

Posted by: Steph on July 13th, 2007

The other day, Peter picked up a big bag of root beer barrels. Peter and I both have a root beer barrel jones. And now, unfortunately, so does Tyge.
Wednesday evening, Peter left a few empty root beer barrel wrappers next to the bed. Tyge discovered the wrappers and immediately tried to scarf ‘em. I caught […]
