iDay Frenzy Fun

Up in here in the frozen North, we’re shut out of the whole iPhone frenzy - no At&T Wireless/Cingular service. As a result, we’re deprived of the opportunity to stand in line for days at the local Apple or AT&T store eagerly awaiting 6:00 PM today when the phones go on sale.

However, we can live vicariously from afar via Engadget’s iPhone Multi-City Line Blog. It’s totally entertaining and great fun to check out iLine happenings throughout the country. I do admit that even though I absolutely LOVE my Nokia E70, I would probably be one of the geek heads in an iLine.

I just saw that AT&T has announced an acquisition of Dobson/Cellular One. What does this mean to Alaskans and GCI? iPhones? 3G? Direct competition between AT&T and their stepchild ACS? Weird. Maybe it’s a good thing you are only living vicariously. Check these shenanigans out: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/ripoff/breaking-several-att-stores-forced-customers-to-buy-accessories-with-iphone-273992.php

iTunes and Quicktime are also very problematic under Vista. I am no fan of Microsoft, but Apple is really taking their time getting stuff to work under Vista. I’m not sure what the issue is - but it is certainly annoying.
