Note to Self

Note to Self: The next time I fly in to Las Vegas, arrange for a limo as opposed to catching a cab.

Our plane landed at 11:00 PM and the bags took forever. I finally snagged my bags at Midnight and then went outside to the cab line and about passed out. The line was unbelievable - my guess is that there were 500 people in line - and I’m not exaggerating. I think with the exception of the line at the Eiffel Tower, it’s the longest line I’ve ever stood in. An hour later, at 1:00 AM, I finally got to the head of the line and got a cab. I arrived at my hotel at the wonderful hour of 1:30 AM. ugh….

Las Vegas is absolutely packed because of The Fight. As a result of the packedness, the only decent (Las Vegas has some scary bad hotels - one does need to be careful) and affordable (read under $250/night) room I could pin down was at the Hilton Grand Vacations. Well, the Grand Vacations is almost 4 miles away from my conference and I think it’s about two miles away from anywhere. So, this morning I did a little net surfing and lo and behold snagged a room at New York New York for the very (Las Vegas) reasonable price of $185 per night. So, early this afternoon I decamped from the Hilton to New York New York. I am much happier and much closer to my conference.

And - boy is this town pysched for The Fight. It’s actually a ton of fun.
