Close But No Cigar - an Ice Update.
We’ve had sunny weather for the past three days but the temperature has been a bit chilly. As a result, the lagoon ice cover is greatly reduced, but still present. So, Carol, Frankie, and Cory are all out of the running. It’s my guess that unless we have a gigantic earthquake this evening, those who picked the 29th (BJ, Mom, and Sean) as the Ice-Out date will also be out of luck. It’s my guess that the ice will either go out tomorrow or Tuesday.
Here are the current standings:
| NAME | DATE |
| BJ | April 29th |
| Mom | April 29th |
| Sean | April 29th |
| Ski Boy | April 30th |
| Kim | April 30th |
| Scott | May 1st |
| Phil | May 1st |
| Rick | May 2nd |
| Elliott | May 2nd |
| Ted | May 3rd |
| Nicole | May 4th |
Here’s the status of the Lagoon at about 11:00 AM this morning. The view is of the east end. The ice has been out from the west end for several days. You can see that the east end ice is looking somewhat pock marked and thin.
Hello. I am
Remember, the 29th is not over until midnight. Do I need to come check the condition of the ice at 11:59 p.m.
The Ski Boy and I just checked the ice status about an hour ago. I don’t think it’s going anywhere tonight. So, you probably won’t need to stop by at 11:59 PM or even Midnight!
I knew I should have come up there and blown some hot air on that ice. I might plan that in next year.
Boo, hiss.
I was robbed, I tell you, robbed!
