One of my Best Moose Pictures Ever
Yesterday morning, as I stepped out of the shower, I heard Tyge downstairs barking. I ignored the cacophony - Tyge frequently barks at invisible elephants. As I brushed my teeth, the barking continued. Hmmm….I began to wonder if our cow and calf moose pair had returned. So, while still in my birthday suit, I zoomed over to the over side of the house to get a look at the window - and guess what. Instead of an invisible elephant, it was the moose calf munching down on a tree a mere 20 feet from the back door. I hurriedly threw on some clothes, grabbed the camera, and flew downstairs to the back door. I carefully pushed Tyge out of the way, stepped out on to the hot tub deck and started shooting away. I got some great shots. You just can’t beat getting within 15 feet.
This was the best shot of the bunch - I think it’s one of my best ever moose pictures. I’m very pleased. BTW - this is one very solid calf. He’s almost a year old and obviously did quite well through the winter.
The calf then wandered over to the neighbor’s driveway to sample their hedge row.
