When a Butterfly Flaps its Wings in New Jersey…
Poor Mom. Yesterday, she was scheduled to fly Outside to Seattle. She was going to be down there for a week doing Slinglerland stuff. Well, yesterday afternoon, well after Mom was supposed to be in the air, I received a call - she was at the airport and needed a ride home. Hmmm…this was odd. Had the week really gone by that fast?
Nope. Mom’s afternoon Continental flight was canceled. The plane was scheduled to fly in from Newark. However, that snow and ice storm that Frankie referenced, grounded Mom’s Continental flight in Newark. And to compound matters on this end, it’s the start of Spring Break and every seat out of here on every airline is booked. The earliest Mom could have been rescheduled out was on Tuesday. So, Mom’s week in cherry blossomed Seattle fell by the wayside. She now gets to spend the week up here in the Frozen North. Although, I have to say it’s warmed up a tad. Today’s low was only 8 degrees and the high was 19. A vast improvement.
Also - I never ever, in ten million years thought I would say this, but I like the three week early Daylight Savings Time switch. It allows for late evening sun filled skiing. A real treat. In the past, when the DST switch occured, we were in the mid of breakup - the good skiing snow was all gone. I hate to admit this, but I approve….
Hello. I am
What kind of compensation does the airline give when a flight is canceled?
*headtilts at daylight savings time statement*
Bite your tongue!
Just that I can use the same ticket for anytime (to Seattle? or some other place?) within the next year. However, if the price goes up, I pay the extra.
