Quite the Week
It’s been an intense week in the lives of the Slat Rat and Ski Boy. The usually invulnerable Peter was (and still is) nailed by a nasty viral cough that’s taken Anchorage by storm. I’ve been immersed in a major 3-5 year strategic architecture roadmap planning initiative at work. And when I wasn’t at work, I was testifying at various hearings on the Knik Arm Crossing - on Tuesday evening, I was at the Municipal Assembly Chambers until 11:00 PM.
The icing on the cake is that it has been a very very cold week. The mornings have been well below zero. Tygey and I both have to do serious bundling up before we embark on our 6:00 AM morning constitutional. Yesterday, a very strong northwind moved in on top of the cold weather. Steady winds at 30 mph with regular gusts up to 50 mph. The chill factor yesterday afternoon was at 35 below. Wheee!!!!!
Actually, it really was “Whee!”. The sun was so brilliant yesterday at Noon, that Tygey and I decided to brave the gales and go play in the wind down at the Lagoon. We had the entire Lagoon to ourselves - we were the only ones stupid enough to be out cavorting. Man - it was worth it. We had a blast. Tygey was zooming everywhere, pouncing on windblown detritus, sniffing down moose trails, and playing with the ravens were also having a great time performing aerobatics in the wind.
I took a ton of nifty pictures.
This may be my favorite Tyge picture of all time. He’s airborne and look at that grin!!!!!! I may have to submit this one to a Bouvier Calendar competition.

Hello. I am
Thinking about taking the dog out in that kind of weather would keep me from having a dog. BBBRRRRR
I really want to hug him and squeeze him and call him George.
