Only in Alaska

Today’s front page story in the Daily News: A lone wolf, nicknamed Romeo has been roaming around the Mendenhall Glacier outside of Juneau. Unfortunately, Romeo is losing his wariness towards people and dogs. Romeo has been spotted playing with other dogs and in this picture, he’s got a pug in his mouth and is carrying it like a puppy. Fortunately, the pug survived unharmed but will probably need years of counseling.

The bummer here is that Romeo may well end up getting shot - once predators loose their people warniness, bad things can happen and the animal has to be put down because he becomes a direct threat. sigh…

Better keep info on Romeo from Muby and Chuck__they would not be pleased with the thought of Puck in the jaws.

  2. Leland responds:

    Sadly you are probably right.

  3. Laken responds:

That’s sad, that he’ll likely be shot for acclimating to a human climate. He doesn’t know any better, and doesn’t realize what his behavior will cause.
