Delta Airlines + US Air | Northwest

Delta is in talks with Northwest and is trying to avoid a takeover by US Airways. Ever since my debacle last summer with Northwest Airlines, I’ve watched their business doings. After I read the today’s little blurb, I IM’d the Ski Boy - he will never forgive Northwest for last summer’s nasty little experience.

His response was very cute:

I do not care about airlines that do not mail me cookies

All of the Alaska Airline Gold MVP’ers in the crows will instantly know what Peter was referring to. But to clue in the rest of you, every year right around the holidays, every MVP Gold member receives a box of the most wonderful, big, chocolate dipped shortbread-like cookies from Alaska Airlines. Those cookies are legendary. Everyone loves them.

However, this year, for some reason, Peter didn’t receive his cookies. So, on Thursday of last week he sent an email to Alaska Airlines Customer Service stating that Santa had neglected to deliver the cookies. He immediately received an return email apologizing and stating that “the elves” would get right on it. Lo and behold, our cookies arrived on Monday!!!!!

This is why we love Alaska Airlines!

  1. Scott responds:

I had saved one last Alaska Air cookie for a special occasion, but when I read this, I had to break it out and start chomping… I love the dark chocolate variety, but I won’t be getting them next year.

  2. Kim responds:

Hmm. I didn’t get my cookies either. It MIGHT have been because I forgot to change my address when I moved, but I STILL WANT THEM! I prefer the milk chocolate and ate all of Scott’s this year. :-D

  3. Frankie responds:

    That’s so awesome!

    Now I want cookies!

  4. Jeri responds:

I haven’t received my MVP gold cookies yet this year either - wonder if they are not doing them, or have a shipping hangup or something? I have already gotten a flown with a gold first class upgrade though - and that’s the real value for me. :)

    Great new site & layout!

    Jeri
